Mantis is designed for precision engineering, electronic engineering, medical device manufacture, and a wide range of other applications that require high-quality images and superior ergonomics. It features a unique, patented, eyepiece-less design that delivers a large, high-quality optical stereo image directly into the user’s eyes, making it more comfortable and easier to view than traditional microscopes.
Mantis superior microscope ergonomics allows higher levels of concentration and lowers fatigue to give you better performance. It enables relaxed, stress-free viewing and the eyepiece-less design reduces eye activity, and thus eye strain. Manipulate your subject easily with long working distance, accurate 3D view, and quick magnification change.
Mantis stereo microscopes delivers an unrivaled high-quality 3D image, rich in detail and contrast, perfect for 3D observations and manipulation of a wide range of subjects. Mantis eyepiece-less technology projects a large high-quality 3D image directly to your eye, making it easier to see and more comfortable to view than a binocular stereo microscopes.
The clarity of the 3D image supports enhanced hand-eye coordination, making subject manipulation with tools more accurate, faster and more efficient. The Mantis unique Dynamic View Optics enables a stereo view, which changes as you move your head. See the sides of a subject as well as the top to gain a greater level of information and understanding.
Mantis extended pupil eyepiece-less technology increases your eye comfort. The distance from Mantis to the eye, allows access to ambient light, reducing iris activity when working. Common focus distance reduces refocusing effort while working with the system.
Users can wear corrective or protective eye glasses with no loss of performance.
Greater separation from the system to your eye reduces the risk of cross-contamination and eye infection, so Mantis microscopes can be shared between multiple operators more safely, reducing operator risk.
The distinctive stereo view of Mantis gives you both a direct view of the subject and allows peripheral vision. This enhanced view helps you to understand the shape and form of the subject, and also the position of the tools they are using to work on the sample.
Sample manipulation using tools can be carried out with higher levels of accuracy and confidence.
Mantis has few, simple-to-operate controls to ensure that every user quickly and effectively becomes confident with the instrument. Rotating the multi-view turret allows three different magnifications of your subject with a simple operation without changing view.
Mantis features five different illumination modes, giving you maximum control over lighting your subject. This ensures you achieve the best possible shadow- free illumination of your sample for the best quality inspection and manipulation.
Dynamic 3D illumination
Control and enhance 3D illumination for even greater understanding of 3D subjects. Two banks of LEDs can be set for synchronized or independent control to give you the option to add shadow detail, enhancing your 3D understanding of the subject. Additionally it helps prevent unwanted reflections, which can hide subject detail.
Sub-stage, transmitted, diascopic illumination
Transparent, translucent and perforated subjects are best illuminated from below. The Mantis’ Stabila stand with built in sub-stage illuminator is an effective solution to your transmitted lighting requirements.
Incident, episcopic illumination
Sometimes it is necessary to view down a blind hole. Get light along the optical path between closely packed components or to the bottom of a bore for inspection tasks with Mantis’ episcopic illuminator.
Combined White/UV illumination
Change from white to UV light at the push of a button for inspection of coatings and fluorescing agents. Speed up inspection of coated parts by viewing the coating, and then through the coating as you quickly change from one light to the other.
Contrast enhancing, pseudo dark-field illumination
Low-contrast subjects such as plastics, glass and biological and other transparent/translucent samples benefit with optional contrast-enhancing base.
