- Less signal to noise ratio
- Nucleic Acid Gel Staining
SYBR® Green stains are fluorescent dyes used to detect DNA and RNA. They are more sensitive and less mutagenic than standard stains, yet they provide excellent signal-to-noise ratio with minimal background. SYBR® Green I detects as little as 60 pg dsDNA and 1 ng oligonucleotides in agarose and polyacrylamide gels. It is optimal for PCR, apoptosis studies, and heteroduplex analysis.
SYBR® Green II detects 100 pg ssDNA and 2 ng RNA in agarose and polyacrylamide gels. SYBR® Green II is optimal for RNA gel electrophoresis and SSCP analysis. Both stains are supplied as a 10,000X concentrated solution in DMSO
