Kifunensine
Kifunensine is an alkaloid compound, originally isolated from the actinomycete Kitasporia kifunensis, that exhibits potent and selective inhibition of class I α-mannosidases. Kifunensine is used to suppress Endoplasmic Reticulum-Associated Degradation (ERAD) via the inhibition of endoplasmic reticulum-associated mannosidase activity.
Selective inhibitor of class I glycoprotein-processing α-mannosidases.
Soluble in water (25 mg/ml).
