Streptomyces avidinii Streptavidin, MP Biomedicals
Lieferant: ICN Biomedicals
Streptavidin is soluble in water at 1 mg/ml (clear to hazy), or in phosphate buffered saline (PBS). Readily soluble in water or salt-containing buffers (50 mg/ml or more).
There is a tendency for lyophilised streptavidin to aggregate when dissolved in water or other low ionic strength buffers at neutral or acidic pH. In rare cases steptavidin may contain a small amount of insoluble material when dissolved in de-ionised water or low ionic strength buffers or after freezing and re-thawing, but not in presence of salt-containing buffers such as PBS. It can be removed by centrifugation, material recovered under conditions is undimished and doesn't constitute a significant fraction of total protein.
One unit will bind 1,0 μg biotin.
