Thermo Scientific™ GeneRuler™ and O'GeneRuler™ DNA ladders are mixtures of chromatography-purified individual DNA fragments. The GeneRuler™ line includes the most popular ladders, such as the 100 bp and 1 kb DNA Ladder. GeneRuler™ DNA ladders are available in two formats: Conventional (provided in TE buffer) and a ready-to-use format (premixed with 6X DNA Loading Dye which contains bromophenol blue and xylene cyanol FF). O'GeneRuler™ DNA ladders are another ready-to-use version of GeneRuler™ DNA ladders that are premixed with 6X Orange DNA Loading Dye.

GeneRuler™ 1 kb, 100 bp, and 50 bp DNA ladders are recommended for sizing and approximate quantification of a wide range of double-stranded DNA on agarose gels. GeneRuler™ DNA low range and high range ladders are best for sizing and approximate quantification of double-stranded DNA at low and high DNA size ranges.

O’GeneRuler™ DNA ladders are premixed with 6X Orange DNA Loading Dye, which contains xylene cyanol FF and orange G. In a 1% agarose gel orange G dye migrates at 50 bp. Therefore, O’GeneRuler™ DNA ladders are ideal to use when visualisation of small DNA fragments is important.

Bitte beachten Note: GeneRuler™ DNA Ladders will be upgraded in April 2018. The upgraded product will arrive either premixed or provided with TriTrack loading buffer containing three colour tracking dyes. This allows monitoring of band separation from a wide range of DNA fragments. This upgrade will not affect the DNA ladder’s banding pattern or its performance. During the transition it is possible that both configurations will be shipped for a limited time.
