[Arg8]-Vasopressin, MP Biomedicals
Lieferant: ICN Biomedicals
[Arg8]-Vasopressin is involved in diuresis, vasoregulation, thermoregluation, and memory. This product is known as a diuretic hormone. It also affects rat renal medullary Na+/K+ ATPase by arginine vasopressin mediation through the V2 receptor. It is also reported to act as a central nervous system neurotransmitter.
- Sequence: Cys-Tyr-Phe-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Arg-Gly-NH2
- Synonyms: AVP, Arginine Vasopressin, Antidiuretic Hormone, Cys-Tyr-Phe- Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Arg-Gly-NH2 , β-Hypophamine, Agripressin, [Arg8]-Vasopressin acetate salt
- Molecular Formula: C46H65N15O12S2
- Molecular Weight: 1084,24
Major physiological roles of vasopressin are regulation of water balance in animals (antidiuretic action) and contraction of arterioles (vasopressor action).
Dissolve the peptide in distilled, oxygen free water (oxygen free water is recommended to help prevent oxidation of the Cys groups). The concentration should be high enough to allow for addition of buffer after the product is dissolved completely. If necessary, a few drops of dilute acetic acid or ammonium hydroxide can be added to help solubilise the peptide.
Note: Peptide content is approximately 80%; peptide purity is approximately 97%. Counter ion is typically an acetate salt.
